About Jacqueline

Jacqueline Martinez is a Los Angeles-based costume designer, currently pursuing her MFA in Costume Design at UCLA. She received her BFA at Florida International University in Miami, Florida.

Her designs for Luis Alfaro’s ELECTRICIDAD were awarded an Honorable Mention at the Southeastern Theatre Conference Undergrad Competition and were featured at the 2011 Prague Quadrennial.

In 2009, she completed a year-long internship as a costume shop manager at Playhouse on the Square in Memphis, Tennessee. During her internship, she designed two productions: A YEAR WITH FROG & TOAD and SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE TOO!

Most recently, she worked on her first television series MAGIC CITY in Miami, as a costumer. Season 1 of MAGIC CITY will be premiere on Starz in 2012.

Jacqueline was born and raised in Miami, Florida to Cuban parents, and speaks fluent Spanish. She is working towards establishing herself in film and television.
